Solar Power Again or A Rain Day Project

Now that I have your undivided attention, solar power / heating may hepl you with the cost of heating oil, natural gas and electricity as they seem to increase in cost almost everyday, a solar window heater may be just what you need to supplement heating a small room or work shop.

This solar heater is a simple project that can be assembled without any 'special' tools. Almost every home work shop will have all the tools needed to construct this simple solar heater project.

Basically this solar heater is a wooden box the width of your window, 6 to 8 inches deep and at least 4 feet long. It's interior is painted black to maximize sun's solar heating of it's interior surfaces. It's only real draw back is to achieve any real benefit from it, it must be facing south and sloped at about a 45 degree angle. Gas, Food and Taxes !!!

Crude oil is at an all time high. Gasoline is over $3.50 a gallon and looks like it will be at $4.00 a gallon by mid-summer. It now cost $100.00 dollars or more to fill up a medium to large size SUV or truck. The real rub is that most truck owners can not trade down to smaller vehicles because a truck is required for them to continue business and provide their services to the public.

Bread and eggs, pasta and any other food made from wheat has skyrocketed in price they have doubled in price or in some cases are up as much as 70%.
Some say that rice which is the major food staple for most of the world has increased in price as much as 70% and in some places is almost impossible to buy rice at any price. This means that many of the worlds poor can no longer afford a single bowl of rice a day. Some large chain stores are limiting the amount of rice a customer can purchase.

To add insult to injury, some of the idiots 'we' sent to congress now want to cancel presidents Bush's income tax cuts, increase fuel taxes, cut highway and bridge repair funding so they can 'give' more to illegal aliens in food stamps, free medical care and other welfare programs. Just how stupid do those ass holes think the voting, working 'legal' American are ?

There's little oil companies or the government can do to bring crude oil prices down. Crude oil is a commodity traded on the world markets and as with any commodity, the highest bidder controls the selling price of that commodity.

It's the old story of Supply and Demand, sets prices.
Only thing that we can do to effect the price is (1). Increase supply, not likely or (2). Decrease demand and this seems unlikely as well!! © 2008
