Hey boys and girls, have you been watching NASA TV of mission STS-124? NASA TV Astronauts are assembling a International Space Station one part at a time. Just like we did using our erector sets in the past! I hope they still have all the parts, I always seemed to be short a part or two when I built cranes and sky scrapers from my well used and abused Erector Set.
Our astronauts and NASA have become so capable and experienced in space that most people don't even notice when we launch a mission into space or when they land a multi-million mile mission.Our country now sends men and women into space, accomplish task that only a few years ago were unimaginable. Only 50 years ago, no man had ever been to space, less than 40 years ago we landed the first man on the moon. Now in 2008 we routinely go to space as casually as we go to the corner store for a 6 pack of beer.
Wake Up America this is the 21 century, we are doing great and amazing things with our technology and for the most part it's all for the good of our children and the planet they will inherit from us old guys. Our planet eats better, lives longer and it's people are safer than anytime in recorded history. Yes I know about places where people are starving, Yes I know about places that are at war, but, even with our failures, this world is still a far better place to live than anytime in history.
Life Expectancy in 1900 was about 50 or 51 years old. Today thats not even considered an old person! At least thats not considered old if you 45! The same lust for knowledge that has taken us to outer space and the moon, feeds us better has developed better medical care shorter, easier and safer working conditions than anytime in history. If your not excited about life in America, You should be!
